Bittersweet beginnings for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The new series First video which takes us back to Middle-earth after the trilogies of peter jacksonit immediately became the biggest debut in the platform’s history with 25 million viewers on the first day of “airing”, but at the same time, a lot of reviews started to come in.

Amazon took shelter and thwarted the wave of bombing review – a practice often used by toxic fandoms to discredit a product’s overall rating – blocking user comments for approximately 72 hours. Thus, they hope, the opinions expressed by Internet users will be real and not the result of orchestrated initiatives to boycott the show. However, this defense mechanism cannot do anything against tweets from Elon Musk.

The famous entrepreneur and “space man” of our century has indeed castigated the series power rings with two poisoned tweets. In the first, he shared his dry judgment that leaves no doubt as to whether or not he liked the first two episodes: “Tolkien is turning in his grave“.

Immediately afterwards, he goes into the background of his review and writes: “Almost all of the male characters so far are either cowards, idiots, or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and kind“. A partly true comment: the character played by Morfydd Clark he is and will no doubt be central, but it’s not entirely correct to say that the other male co-stars are as portrayed. Elrond (Robert Aramayo) shows great intelligence and a good heart, the wood elf Round (Ismael Cruz Cordoba) he is a relentless soldier and so on.

In recent days, the same protagonist of the series had his say on the criticism directed at the Rings of Power: “Tolkien was a very complex person that created a really complex world, and this idea that anyone can assume that they know exactly what they would like or what they would like is, I think, nonsense“.

Words that also seem to fit perfectly with what Elon Musk said about Tolkien. What do you think about it? The Lord of the Rings did he start off on the wrong foot? Let us know in the comments.
