Everything Asks for Salvation: Plot, Cast and Trailer
“A young man – we read on Netflix – he spends a week in a psychiatric ward with five other patients and has to deal with research-obsessed doctors and cynical nurses. »
Federico Cesari plays Daniele, a boy who ends up on the Compulsory Health Treatment (TSO) scheme following a psychotic breakdown. He will spend seven days in the dormitory of a psychiatric ward, between roommates with whom he thinks he has nothing in common and doctors and nurses who are not really interested in his mental health.
Here, the story of Daniele will mingle with that of five other boys: Mario (Andrea Pennacchi), Gianluca (Vincenzo Crea), George (Lorenzo Renzi), Madonna (Vincenzo Nemolato) and Alexander (Alessandro Pacioni). With them, he will live one of the most intense and formative experiences of his life. A path of self-knowledge and acceptance, but also of openness to others. What seemed to him a terrible sentence will lead him to weave solid and sincere bonds.
In the cast we also find Fotini Peluso as Nina, a former friend from high school and now on the ward with Daniele; Ricky Memphis, Bianca Nappi And Flaure BB Kabore in those of three nurses; Philip Nigro And Raffaella Lebboroniwho played Dr. Mancino and Dr. Cimaroli; Lorenza Guess it’s Anna, Daniele’s mother; Michele La Ginestra it is Father Angelo; Arianna Mattioli it is his sister Antonella; Caroline Crescentini as Giorgia, Nina’s mother.
Everything asks for salvation is loosely based on the novel of the same name written by Daniele Mencarelli, winner of the 2020 Strega Giovani Prize.
