On the occasion of the upcoming world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, the new poster for The Fabelmansa new project awaited by Steven Spielberg.
The film will be a semi-biographical project, in which the director will tell about the years of his youth marked by the love of cinema and the relationship with his parents and family, which has always been one of the main themes of his filmography.
The idea of a semi-biographical project has been entertained by Spielberg since 1999, although he has always hesitated to see it through. Returning to the subject in 2002, the director explains his doubts about making a film that touches in one way or another – albeit indirectly – on his family sphere:
“My big fear is that my mum and dad don’t like it and they think it’s an insult and they don’t share my loving but critical view of what it was like to grow up with them. It’s so close to my life and so close to my family. I prefer to make films about the same subject, but a literal story about my family would take a lot of courage“.
Be that as it may, Spielberg’s much-delayed project it is now realityand on Wednesday a new poster dedicated to the film’s now-imminent world premiere was released.
In the first suggestive poster, we see what seems to be the silhouette of a young Steven Spielberg engaged on the path that will lead him from a simple teenager passionate about cinema to become one of the greatest directors the Seventh Art has ever seen. In the composition, we also see the exterior of some film studios, while some footage from the film is laid out in the background. Here among the faces present we recognize those of Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen and Gabriel Labelle.
