After the end of breaking Bad the orphan audience of the series devoted to the events of Walter White was able to continue to breathe “the air of home” thanks to the spin-off You better call Saul, show that marked the return of Bob Odenkirk as one of the most popular supporting characters: lawyer Saul Goodman. Now that this lucky second project is complete, it’s time to Gilligan wins to get back to work on new ideas.
It has been announced that the acclaimed author is currently involved in the development of a new series, produced for AppleTV+which will star the actress Rhea Seehorn. An old acquaintance of Gilligan and his audience, having already lent the face to the character of Kim Wexler in the aforementioned Better Call Saul.
“After fifteen years, I thought it was time to take a break from writing anti-heroes…and who’s more heroic than the genius Rhea Seehorn? It’s been a while since she’s had a show of her own and I feel lucky to be able to work on it together.”
The project does not yet have a title, but we already know that it will be produced by Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht And Chris Parnell from Sony Pictures Television, the same names behind Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
“I think it’s great to find Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht and Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say yes to Breaking Bad all those years ago. They have created a great team and I am delighted to work with them again”.
No plot details have been revealed at this time, but we look forward to further updates on the project.
