Forty20 News understands that Ottawa will name their first ever head coach tomorrow.

Our reporter John Davidson revealed in March that the Aces squad, which remains focused on taking its place in League 1 next season, is set to be led by Laurent Frayssinous.

A former French international player, Frayssinous is best known to UK fans as the coach of Catalans Dragons between 2013 and 2017.

He succeeded Trent Robinson in the role and enjoyed a four-season stint before being dismissed and replaced by Steve McNamara three years ago.

Meanwhile, Forty20 News understands that Ottawa have tempted a current Championship assistant way from his current post to join Frayssinous on the coaching staff at the new club.

The RFL announced in March that the Aces have been granted a place in next year’s League 1 competition.

Speaking at the time, chairman Eric Perez said: “I think there will be a lot of interest now that we’re announced.

“From June on you can expect to hear of a lot of signings happening. I’m the chairman, I’m not going to be hands on in that process [of signing players].

“There are a lot of players who are really, really looking forward to get on this roster.”
