The original novel

Luca Bianchini was born in Turin in 1970 and attended Majorana high school in Moncalieri. With Mondadori he publishes “Instant love” (2003), “I follow you every evening” (2004), the biography of Eros Ramazzotti, “Eros – Lo giuro” (2005), “If tomorrow will be nice” (2007 ), “We’re Just Friends” (2011) and “Tell Me You Believe in Destiny” (2015). In 2013, the Puglia stories of “I Who Love Only You” and “Christmas Dinner” from “I Who Love Only You” conquered the charts and the hearts of readers. Two successful films were made from these novels in 2015 and 2016. In 2017 he published the novel “Nobody Like Us” whose film directed by Volfango De Biasi is loosely based.

The official synopsis of the novel: Turin, 1987. Vincenzo, for his friends Vince, a budding sandwich maker and seventeen-year-old aspirant, is in love with Caterina, known as Cate, his ninth-grade classmate, who falls in love with everyone except him. Without realizing it, she makes him suffer by constantly asking him for love advice under the puzzled eyes of Spain, the school’s brunette girl, black hair and sharp tongue. In class, Vince, Cate and Spain call each other “Three Hearts for Rent”, named after the inseparable trio of their favorite sit-com. The balance of this happy trio is upset, in the middle of the school year, by the arrival of Roméo Fioravanti, handsome, spoiled and a little arrogant, who has already missed a year and risks losing another. Romeo is about to turn eighteen, he embodies the cliché of the eighties and thinks he knows everything just because he comes from a good family. But Vince and Cate, without knowing it, will question his certainties. To watch over them, there will always be Betty Bottone, the passionate Italian teacher, who scolds them in French and does modern dance exercises while explaining Dante. She too will fall into the trap of adolescence and begin a journey that no one can ever prepare you enough for: that of unexpected love, which makes your heart beat when it “shouldn’t”. In a public high school where the rich of the hills and the less privileged of the Turin suburbs rub shoulders, Vince, Cate, Romeo and Spain will set off to discover themselves without having a computer or a smartphone to show them the way, asking , jostling, writing notes and begging a landline phone to ring when I’m home. And above all, understand how important it is not to be afraid of your weaknesses.
