Apparently, it was decided to give a first and last name to the character born from the collaboration of Bob Kane, Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson and who appeared in 1940 in the first issue of the comic series Batman. This story, it should be specified, takes place in an alternate reality told by martha wayne – Bruce’s mother. With curiosity it is she who becomes the Joker of her universebut this is not the name to which we refer.
In the pages of the Batman comics goes to thearkham asylum to discover that in this universe the Clockwork Killer none other than his ex-wife and mother Martha Wayne became the Joker. After learning of the existence of Clown of Gotham in the universe where Bruce is not dead, he tells the story of a comedian in his world that is very reminiscent of that of the “canonical” version of the villain.
It’s about a failed comedian who’s stuck in his job cleaning the bathrooms at the Wayne Casino. Despite the difficulties, however, in this universe, he would not have become the Joker thanks to the presence of a happy family in his life. Her name? Jack Oswald White.

Being an alternate reality, it’s not automatic that this version of Flashpoint is also the name of the Joker from the comics of Batman – but it should be noted that most of the characters that appear in this series bear the same name in the pendant of the DC Universe. In other stories earlier, it was suggested that the Joker’s name might be Jack, and this new clue fleshes out (or definitively answers) the question.
Until now, Gotham’s Clown Prince of Crime has always remained nameless to add mystery and a mythical aura to the famous villain. Jack’s name may have inspired film in recent years Tim Burtonin which precisely the Joker of Jack Nicholson it was actually called Jack Napier. The same name was used in Batman: The White Knightwhile in other versions he always remained unnamed.
His last appearance in Todd Phillips instead, he renamed the character Arthur Fleck in the 2019 film and its anticipated sequel, but it was never a canonical name for the DC Universe. Will his true identity now remain in the mainstream comics reality as well? Will Joker be called Jack Oswald White? That remains to be seen, but let us know in the comments what you think of the pick.
