Harry Styles returned to talk about the alleged spitting on Chris Pine at the premiere of don’t worry darlingat the 79th Venice Film Festival.

The actor and pop star recently wrapped up his lagoon festival commitments and on Wednesday night returned to perform on a tour date at New York’s Madison Square Garden, where he returned to comment on the now alleged – how famous – episode. Here, Styles took the opportunity to once again quip on the subject, saying:

This is our 10th concert at Madison Square Garden. It’s wonderful, wonderful, wonderful to be back in New York. I just took a little trip to Venice to spit on Chris Pine. But don’t worry, we’re back!“.

You can see HERE the video of Harry Styles and his provocative statement at Madison Square Garden.

What might have been just the latest case associated with Olivia Wilde’s film has been scaled down several times by those directly involved since it was believed to be only the result of a visual suggestion. At the first signs of controversy, representatives of Chris Pine have indeed thrown water on the fire by declaring:

It’s a ridiculous story, full hype and the result of a weird online illusion that is clearly confusing and allows for such silly speculation.“.

In a later statement for Variety they then added:

Just to be clear, Harry Styles didn’t spit on Chris Pine. There is nothing but respect between the two and any further suggestion of this is a brazen attempt to create drama that just doesn’t exist.“.

As reported by well-known magazine insiders, during Venice Film Festival engagements no trace emerged no ill will between the two actors, so much so that no incident or misunderstanding between the two – and even less spitting – was reported during the event.

don’t worry darling was screened on September 5 at the Venice Film Festival and will be available in Italian cinemas from September 22.
