The experienced half back is the third player in Ottawa’s cross hairs.

Ottawa Aces are interested in signing up Halifax play-maker Tom Gilmore.

The Canadian club, which will enter League 1 next year, is building its squad for 2020.

Forty20 News understands off-contract Gilmore is one player that Ottawa are keen on.

The 26-year-old left Widnes Vikings last year to join Championship club Fax on a one-year deal.

But because of the coronavirus Gilmore only managed two games for Simon Grix’s side this year.

The half-back hails from Widnes and spent eight years with the club, scoring 14 tries in 58 appearances and has also previously he spent time on loan with North Wales Crusaders and London Broncos.

Gilmore, who is equally adept in the 6 or 7 jersey, was selected in an England Knights Performance Squad in July 2018.

Ottawa are pursuing Gilmore alongside Workington Town hooker Dec O’Donnell and Featherstone half-back Louis Jouffret.
