The Leeds utility is out of contract at the end of the season.

Castleford Tigers have expressed an interest in acquiring off-contract Leeds Rhinos forward Liam Sutcliffe.

The 25-year-old is a free agent at the end of this year and Forty20 News understands that the Tigers are an interested party.

Sutcliffe has spent his whole career at his home-town club, making his Super League debut in 2012.

He has scored 53 tries in 171 appearances for the Rhinos, helping the club win the 2014 Challenge Cup and the 2017 Super League Grand Final.

Sutcliffe is able to cover a number of positions including loose forward, centre, fullback and stand-off.

The utility made his Test debut for England against France in 2018 and has also made one appearance for the England Knights.

This year he has played just two games in Super League, in round one against Hull FC and in round three against Hull KR.

Sutcliffe has undergone knee surgery during the lockdown period.

In 2019 the Hunslet Warriors product kicked 57 goals and crossed for six tries in 30 appearances for Leeds.

The Rhinos have a number of off-contract players including Richie Myler, Stevie Ward, Tom Briscoe and Adam Cuthbertson.

Myler and Ward have been linked with moves to Toronto Wolfpack, while Cuthbertson has been tipped to retire at the end of the year.
