It was the big social news of the day: a video that quickly went viral since the premiere of don’t worry darling to 79th Venice Film Festival seemed to show the actor and the singer Harry Styles spit on the colleague Chris Pine.
More than the gesture of the film’s star protagonist by Olivia Wilde, to raise serious doubts was Pine’s reaction: As Harry Styles is about to sit down, the actor freezes and stares at his pants, suddenly stopping clapping and instead flashing a very tight smile. Another video of the story has emerged, shot from a different angle, by someone in the rows above the cast present in the Big room.
You can see it HERE and the new perspective seems to “clear” the former One Direction member. The interested party, or rather his representatives, also intervened on this subject. Variety denied it all, calling the story “ridiculous story“. According to the source, it was clarified that it was only a “complete framework and the result of a strange online illusion which is clearly confusing and allows these silly speculations“.
The “offended” party, i.e. Chris Pine, instead stated – again through his representatives: “Just to be clear, Harry Styles didn’t spit on Chris Pine. There is nothing but respect between the two and any further suggestion of this is a brazen attempt to create drama that just doesn’t exist.“.
From the second video that has emerged, in fact, the two are seen talking immediately after the alleged spat. From Venice, they let it be known that there would be no tension between the two – unlike that perceived around Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh. According to rumors, between the two there is no good blood: the actress would have skipped the press conference officially due to organizational problems, but there are those who think that it is an attempt to avoid sitting down with the director of don’t worry darling.
Moreover, the two would have been carefully avoided even during the premiere of the film – the scene of which, however, was stolen by the alleged Harry Styles spitting. Case closed? Admittedly, the climate and the suspicions around the film arouse a lot of interest. The ideal climate to launch the film on Netflix, since September 23, 2022.
