It’s been a few weeks since the cancellation of bat girlthe now famous comic strip directed by Bilal Fallal and Adil El Arbi with Leslie Grace as the protagonist.
With a scheduled streaming release on HBO Max in late 2022, the film was long one of the most anticipated DC-branded projects by fans before being scrapped following a sudden strategy change company adopted by the new leaders of Warner Bros. Discovery.
While highly unlikely, the hope that sooner or later material will be released to allow us to get a taste of the film that hasn’t, is dying. The Major, however, seems unwilling to release footage of the plan, however, pending a (nearly impossible) rethink Warner Bros. Discovery, YouTube channel Corridod Digital thought of doing a “leaked” version of what it could have been the movie trailer.
Although it is a fan-made production, the result is certain effect, and shows a moment of props, costume making and visual effects work. The video in question undoubtedly manages to restore the rotten atmosphere of Gotham by putting in the center the threat that Firefly represents. A resolutely suggestive work, which also pleased the directors of the film, who decided to publish it in their Instagram stories.
There are also characters that should have appeared in the film, that he would have seen Leslie Grace in the role of the protagonist, a Michael Keaton back as Batman via Brendan Fraser as the announced villain, the arsonist Firefly. It also appears JK Simmons like Jim Gordon, with clips from previous DC Extended Universe movies.

Even though the movie was canceled, that doesn’t mean that bat girl does not fit into the new management’s plans for the future. The decision to cancel the film appears to be the result of DC’s impending change in direction of character-centric stories, rather than a poorly concealed negative judgment of the character’s potential.
